Questions patients ask before they book
When should we see a fertility specialist?
If you are under 35 and have been trying for a year, or 35 or older and have been trying for six months. Come sooner if periods are irregular, if there is known PCOS or endometriosis, or if there has been a miscarriage.
What does IVF cost in Mumbai?
It depends on the protocol, the medication and whether ICSI or freezing is involved. You are given a written estimate covering everything before treatment starts, so there are no figures that appear later.
Do both partners need to come to the first visit?
For a fertility consultation, yes. A male factor is involved in a large share of cases and a semen analysis is one of the first tests, so seeing both partners together saves weeks.
Is IVF always the answer?
No. Many couples conceive with ovulation tracking or IUI and never need IVF. Where a simpler route is reasonable, that is what gets offered first.
Do you handle the pregnancy and delivery too?
Yes. Fertility treatment, antenatal care, high-risk pregnancy and delivery are all handled by the same doctor, so nothing has to be re-explained at the point it gets complicated.
Can I get a second opinion on a cycle that did not work?
Yes, and it is worth sending your previous protocol and reports ahead. The consultation is then spent on what should change rather than on reconstructing what happened.
Where is the clinic?
Kandivali East, Mumbai. There is one clinic and Dr. Shital Jadhav practises there herself.
What are the consulting hours?
Monday to Saturday by appointment. Booking ahead keeps the waiting area quiet, which matters to a lot of patients.
